Could you please tell us about your career so far?

Upon graduating, I joined a Japanese SIer company where I spent approximately three years engaged in SAP operations and maintenance. My primary focus was the procurement domain, handling customer enquiries and undertaking research and development for additional functionalities. During this time, my desire to be involved in solving customer challenges from a more upstream perspective grew stronger, leading me to consider a move into the consulting field. It was then that I encountered ARK CONSULTING.

Please provide details of your current duties.

I am currently responsible for implementation support within SAP’s procurement and sales domains. My role primarily involves working from the conceptualisation phase through to requirements definition, conducting interviews with manufacturing clients to identify operational challenges and distilling these into formal specifications. I find immense satisfaction in being involved in this phase, where I can immerse myself deeply in the client’s business and collaborate closely with them.

Please tell me what you find rewarding about your work.

I find it rewarding to receive direct feedback from clients. When they respond positively to proposals I make for implementation, or when my improvement suggestions are actually adopted, I feel a real sense of contribution. The process of shaping solutions together with clients throughout the project is truly engaging.

How is the working environment for women?

The IT industry still seems male-dominated, but at ARK, I feel opportunities are given equally regardless of gender. I’m also participating in the “Senior Consultant Strategic Development Program” starting in 2025, aiming to be promoted to Senior Consultant within two years. There’s a culture that supports those who want to challenge themselves, and it’s an environment where you can grow rapidly based on your own drive.

The most appealing aspect is the company culture that welcomes challenges. Even young employees can easily share their opinions, and there are many supportive seniors.
Additionally, communication within the company is active, with opportunities to interact across departments through club activities and department meetings. I belong to the tennis club, and I enjoy refreshing my mind while connecting with members from other departments.
